3 more sleeps... for some they wish it never was

well its that time of year again where everyone is rushing around buying gifts, food and grog, the shops are packed the roads are mayhem and the kids are all getting very excited.. everywhere i go i see ppl maxing out there credit cards, putting themselves into debt to make sure that they have a something for everyone and sometimes more than enough for someone... i to am guilty of this over the years but not this year !!! since i began working in crisis i have seen so many young people that just dont get anything, they have no loving family to spend the day with and christmas is a rather depressing time of the year for them.. they are lucky if they get a bed to sleep in or a meal in their stomachs and the chances of them actually having a loving family to spend the christmas season with is next to 0 !! this year i am going to be working on christmas eve through to christmas morning and myself and other staff at our crisis house will try our best to ensure that the residents we house will have some form or a tatste of christmas !! we have purchased each of them a gift, small it is but none the least a gift to open. we will also we making a BBQ breakfast for them, something im sure none of them would have experiences in many years.. this christmas i will spend the evening with my children, family and close friends, we will all probably be drinking, eating great food, sharing lots of laughs and exchanging gifts.. please enjoy yourselves and have a marvelous christmas but take one minute of your day to think about each and every person in this world that for some reason or other will not be celebrating the christmas that we are all so lucky to enjoy..
